Research on Quebec Sign Language (LSQ) content

In order to support Radio-Canada in developing a relevant, useful and viable strategy for Quebec Sign Language (langue des signes québécoise – LSQ) content, CBLS conducted a research on this topic. The main focus of the project was to collect evidence on the needs for that type of content as well as on the LSQ users’ preferences about broadcasting and accessibility in sign language. Following this research report, Radio-Canada offered several contents interpreted in LSQ, such as, for the very first time, the opening and closing ceremonies of the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Tokyo and Beijing.

CBLS thrives on projects that lead to social changes and thus contribute to a better quality of life for Deaf and hard of hearing people!
