Aware of the importance of post-secondary studies for the professional success of deaf and hard-of-hearing people, CB Linguistic Services is proud to announce the launch of the CB Linguistic Services (CBLS) Scholarship program in the winter of 2022.
This scholarship, awarded on an annual basis during the winter competition, will be intended for undergraduate deaf and hard-of-hearing students from all study programs and faculties, whether in the fields of the arts, communications, education, management, political science and law, science, and humanities.
The purpose of the $1,000 scholarship is to encourage deaf and hard-of-hearing people to pursue university studies and become socially involved in their educational institution or elsewhere. Through its social mission, CBLS is committed to the deaf community and encourages students to get involved from the start of their studies.
To receive this scholarship, the student must:
- Be a hard-of-hearing or deaf person, registered with the Bureau de l’inclusion et de la réussite étudiante (BIRE);
- Be registered full-time or part-time in their study program;
- Demonstrate community or social engagement (engagement component).

About CBLS
Thanks to a person-centred approach and to our group of experts, CBLS is involved in many projects of different scopes, from individual to provincial and national. With our expertise and reliability, CBLS aims to be a vector for change when it comes to accessibility for deaf and hard-of-hearing people by offering services to transcend linguistic barriers and create a bridge between deaf and hearing cultures, through four forms of communication: Langue des signes québécoise (LSQ), American Sign Language (ASL), English and French.
